The Yeshiva Gedolah Zichron Moshe, also known as Yeshiva of South Fallsburg, is a private Rabbinical college, or Yeshiva, located in a rural setting, in South Fallsburg, Sullivan County, New York.
During the 2006-2007 academic year, it had 181 students, a decrease from 191 during the previous year. As a Rabbinical college, all students are male.
The Roshei Yeshiva (deans) are Rabbi Elya Ber Wachtfogel and Rabbi Tzvi Abba Gorelick. Rabbi Gorelick died on May 1, 2010, and was buried in Israel, after a funeral presided over by Rabbi Mordechai Auerbach, Rav Sholom Schecter, and Rav Yehousha Dovid Turchin. [1] [2] [3] Rabbi Elya Ber is the son of Rabbi Nosson Meir Wachtfogel, the previous mashgiach ruchani of Beth Medrash Govoha, Lakewood, New Jersey (BMG). Rabbi Gorelick had the extensive administrative role in the Yeshiva, which was founded by his father, the late Rav Yerucham Gorelick. Rabbi Wachtfogel gave the Yeshiva speech of remembrance for Rabbi Gorelick after his passing.[4]
Known colloquially as 'Fallsburg', its students come from all over the United States, Europe and Israel. Following a stint in Fallsburg, bochurim usually spend time in Israel, ideally in one of the many Brisker institutions there. Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik is known to accept a high percentage of graduates of the Yeshiva of South Fallsburg.
It is accredited by the Association of Advanced Rabbinical and Talmudic Schools and offers both the Bachelor's degree as well as first professional certification.
